Romania at the World Exhibition from Paris, 1937

The Romanian Commissioner for this exhibition was Mr Dimitrie Gusti. The Romanian National Pavilion was the work of the architect Duiliu Marcu who was the architect of the King Carol IInd.

Build in a sombrous style, from Ruschita marble, The pavilion had a front with arcades, and the main entrance had an arch 22m tall.

The frescoes from the interior, like the decoration to, showed in different ways the history of Romania. In the garden there were some basoreliefs , shown the origins of the Romanian people.

In the pavilion's rooms were characters of the Romanian tales and a series of pictures from the Romanian churches from Maramures.

In the honor lobby was the statue of King Carol IInd made in natural dimension. The underground was made like a real tourism and hunting museum.

On the ground it was installed the economical section and on the 3 rd floor was the art gallery.

In the back of the pavilion was opened a gypsy-like specific restaurant.
