Closing ceremony of the EXPO 2005 Aichi Japan
 

25 of September- EXPO 2005 Aichi Japan closed today by a special ceremony attended, among others, by His Imperial Highness Prince Naruhito and the Japanese prime-minister Junichiro Koizumi. All the participant countries have been greeded for their overall contribution to the evolution of the World Expositions movement. The next world expos will take place at Zaragoza - 2008 - and Shanghai - 2010. Romania Pavilion at the World EXPO thank to all the Japanese and Romania officials that supported us, to the Romanian artists that held concerts in the Pavilion, to the Japanese translators that intermediate our communication, to our sponsors, to the Japanese and Romanian media. "Cultural week of Romania in Japan"

Romania at EXPO 2005, AICHI, JAPONIA

Romania is participating to the World Exposition 2005 Aichi, Japan , with a National Pavilion where are taking place daily, for 12 hours the day, cultural events. The Exhibition with the theme "Nature's wisdom" is taking place between 25 of March and 25 of September. That international exhibition has been registered at December 15 2000, at the 128th General Assembly of the International Bureau for Exhibitions (B.I.E.) , according to the Convention regarding the International Exhibitions.

Romania, as a BIE foun ding member, accepted the official invitation of Japan and announced his participation in April 2000, being the 40th participant among 130 registered. The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating Romania's participation at that event.

Ferdinand Nagy has been appointed Commissioner General of the Romanian Section at EXPO 2005, as secretary of state in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on November 3rd. The Commissioner General of the Romanian Section has been elected member of the Steering Committee of the Collegium of the General Commisioners of the National Sections, in 19 of November 2003.

Between 20-21 of September 2004, the Ambassador Taizo WATANABE, Commissioner General of the World Exposition 2005 Aichi, Japan paid a visit to Romania. On that occasion, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised a seminar dedicated to the importance of Romania's participation at the first World Exposition of the 21th century, and a press conference.

Between 15-17 of February, at the invitation of the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Răzvan UNGUREANU, the ambassador Jianmin WU, president of BIE and Vicente Gonzales LOSCERTALES, BIE secretary general paid a visit to Romania for discussing Romania's participation at the World Exposition in Japan.
